Adding Pico Modules To Poco

ADD A C4 MODULE TO POCO 4

(INCLUDES OHM & C4-MAX MODULES)

Installation

Pico Expansion Modules

Pico Expansion Modules extend the power and reach of the Poco Digital Lighting Control system, making it possible to control other manufacturers’ luminaires, lighting accessories, and devices that do not have the sophisticated PLI technology built in.

Pico C4 Module  - provides Poco or TTP control of third-party RGB or RGBW lighting accessories. This means that everything from lighted speakers to cupholders to yacht letters can be controlled through the Poco system and seamlessly integrated into the vessel’s overall lighting scheme. On vessels not equipped with the Poco system, the Pico C-4 provides control of color and intensity through any normal on/off switch, using Lumitec’s field-proven TTP protocol.

Pico C4-MAX Module  - provides similar function to the standard C4 Module but with higher output and incorporates a low current signal wire control to reduce the load on the Poco channel. Max load of 10 amps.

Pico OHM Module - provides efficient Poco-only control of third-party RGB lighting accessories (no TTP). The Pico OHM module is designed to attach to the back of the RGB accessory, such as speakers and cup holders, and convert them to easy two-wire systems, enabling Poco digital control. Each module has a max amp load of 400mA. Pico OHM is sold in packs of four (4) modules.

Wiring Pico Modules

The Pico C4 Module provides Poco or TTP control of third-party RGB or RGBW lighting accessories. This means that everything from lighted speakers to cupholders can be controlled through the Poco system.

  • The C4 Module has two bundles of output wires, one for power and ground (red positive & black negative) and another for the connection to the RBG(W) accessory.
  • The positive power wire (red) is connected to the channel out orange wire from the Poco module. The Pico C4 Module draws it's power from the Poco Module.
  • The negative ground wire (black) is connected to a common ground.
  • RGB or RBBW accessories are connected to the five (5) wires existing the Pico C4 module (wires are color coded).
  • The Pico C4 Module has a maximum output of 2.5 amps.

The Pico OHM Module provides Poco control of third-party RGB (ONLY) lighting accessories. It is designed to be placed inline close to the accessory (such as speakers) to reduce the wire runs. They are sold in packs of four (4) and have a max output of 400mA.

  • The OHM Module has two bundles of output wires, one for power and ground (red positive & black negative) and another for the connection to the RBG accessory.
  • The positive power wire (red) is connected to the channel out orange wire from the Poco module. The Pico OHM Module draws its power from the Poco Module.
  • The negative ground wire (black) is connected to a common ground.
  • RGB ONLY accessories are connected to the four (4) wires exiting the Pico OHM module.
  • A Poco module is required for the operation of the Pico OHM.

The Pico C4-MAX Module provides Poco or TTP control of third-party RGB or RGBW lighting accessories. This means that everything from lighted speakers to third-party strip lights can be controlled through the Poco system. The C4_MAX has a higher output (10 amps) than the standard C4 module.

  • The C4-MAX Module has two bundles of output wires, one for power, ground, and a signal wire (red positive, black negative & orange signal wire) and another for the connection to the RBG(W) accessories.
  • The positive power wire (red) is connected to a power supply. The Pico C4-MAX has a built-in 10 amp fuse, so it is not necessary to fuse this circuit.
  • The negative ground wire (black) is connected to a common ground.
  • The signal wire (orange) is connected to the Poco channel out orange wire. This will reduce the load on the Poco channel.
  • RGB or RBBW accessories are connected to the five (5) wires exiting the Pico C4-MAX module (wires are color coded).
  • The Pico C4-MAX Module has a maximum output of 10 amps.

Pico Module Setup in Poco

How to Add a C4, OHM and C4-MAX Module to Poco

Go to the configuration setup menu (gear wheel in the top right of the screen). The default passcode is “0000”

STEP 1:

  • Under Light Groups, add a new light Group (example – Pico C4, C4-MAX, or OHM)
  • Select the Poco channel output to which you connected the Pico Module.
  • Select the Clan or the Pico Module (C4- Clan 7, C4-MAX - Clan 8, OHM-Clan 16).
  • Select Spectrum RGBW as the Output, as you will be connecting an RGB or RGBW light accessory to the Module.
  • Save the Light Group

STEP 2:

  • Go to the Switches Menu.
  • Add a Switch.
  • Switch name is what will appear on the App and or MFD.
  • Leave the widget type (Switch type) as Omnillume.
  • Click on the box below Target and select the Light Group you created for the Module in the previous step.
  • The default intensity is set to 100%. If you would like to change this, click on the 100% and select a value between 0% and 100%. Dimming is PWM and may not work with all third-party RGB/RGBW lights.
  • Color will be the default color you want the accessory light to come on with.
  • Click Save

STEP 3:

  • Go to the Layouts Menu.
  • Click the Add Switch to the layout by clicking on the Plus (+) sign in the dotted circle, and select the switch you just created.
  • Select the home button icon (house) on the top right of the screen to return to the home screen.
  • You will now see the button you created
