Poco Sound -to-Light
What is Sound-to-Light?
Lumitec's Intelligent Sound-To-Light technology is unlike competitor products that just apply a simple, blanket approach to sound presets for active lights. Instead, Poco 4 allows you to customize your sound-to-light experience by light family and channel.
For example, if you have under-gunwale and downlights on the same Poco channel, Poco 4 lets you apply a preset to a single light family. This means you can have the under-gunwale lights follow the melody while the downlights do not change. In contrast, the underwater lights on a different channel could be following the bass, creating complex and unique light patterns for a much more sophisticated overall effect. Sound presets can even be programmed into the light switch along with the lighting configuration, so all you need to do is hit the switch, relax, and enjoy the show.
What is Required?

Intelligent Sound-to-Light offers the ability to apply sound presets to individual light families and to program sound presets to switches along with the lighting configuration.
- Compatible with all existing Lumitec PLI-enabled lighting products.
- Requires a Poco 4 module and the latest version of the Poco App.

- Will not work with Poco 3 or previous versions of the Poco module (no audio input).
- Will be compatible with RGB and RGBW third-party LED accessories connected to a Poco 4 module via a C4, C4-MAX, or OHM module.

Audio Connection
Option One

Option Two

There are two options to connect your audio head unit to the Poco 4 Module. The Poco 4 Module can only be connected to the Analog audio output and is not compatible with a digital connection. An RCA 3.5 mm male-to-male adapter cable is required.
Option One:
The first method is the simplest and preferred method.
- Connect the RCA adapter cable to a non-amplified output zone from your audio head unit.
- Connect the 3.5mm (male) end of the adapter cable to the 3.5mm (female) cable input on the Poco module.
- The head unit settings for Zone output should be set to fixed (or absolute) level. There is no need for a high-pass or low-pass filter on the Zone; it should output full-range audio to Poco.
Option Two:
If your head unit does not have enough output zones, or all zones are occupied, you will need to share an output zone. In this case, you will need to split the audio signal so it is sent to both your amplifier and the Poco module. Additional splitter adapters will be required.
- Connect the splitter adapters to the right and left channels of the output zone.
- Connect the RCA adapter cable to the right and left channels of each adapter.
- Connect the 3.5mm (male) end of the RCA cable to the 3.5mm (female) cable input on the Poco module.
- Connect the remaining right and left channels of the splitters to the amplifier.
- For this option, the head unit settings for the zone output cannot be set to fixed (or absolute) level.

How to Apply a Sound-to-Light Preset
Audio presets are only compatible with Lumitec full-color PLI-enabled lights. Applying an audio preset to an existing switch is quite simple and follows the same principle as changing the light color.

- Hold the switch button down for a few seconds until the Omilume Widget appears on the screen.
- Now select the "Hamburger" menu icon on the lower right (indicated by the reference arrow).
- This will open the Audio Presets panel.

STEP 2:
- The Audio Presets are identified by a musical note icon.
- Select the preset of your choice and exit the window.
- The preset will apply to the lights controlled by the switch.

How to Configure the Sound-to-Light Feature
For convenience, it is recommended to apply default audio presets to a lighting scene rather than individual switches. To create a lighting scene and apply a default audio preset, follow the steps below.
Go to the configuration setup menu (gear wheel in the top right of the screen). The default passcode is “0000”
STEP 1:
- Go to the Switches tab.
- Select "Add Switch" to open the switch configuration window.

STEP 2:
- Give the new switch a name, "Music," for example.
- Switch type will be Omnilume.
- Now select the "Target" field.
- Add a Light Group for the scene (select only one at a time).

STEP 3:
- Now select the "color" field. This is where you will apply the audio preset.
- Select an audio preset denoted by the note icon beside the name (Example - White Caps).
- Select save.

STEP 4:
- To add more Light Groups to your scene, simply repeat the process (Target<Light Group, Color<audio preset)
- Keep the audio preset the same for each Light Group you add.
- Save the action when all desired Light Groups have been added to your scene.
STEP 5:
- Now select the "Layout" tab.
- Under "Edit Layouts," you can select which tab to place your new scene switch (we recommend "Advanced Scenes").
- Select the "Add Switch" option in the "Layout Switches" section to add your new scene switch.
- Click the home icon in the top right corner of the screen to exit the editor and return to the home screen.

STEP 6:
- The new scene switch will now appear in the tab you selected.
- Activating this switch with a single press applies the default audio preset to all Light Groups on the switch.
- To apply a new audio preset, follow the steps above in the "How to Apply a Sound-to-Light Preset" section.
